Trondheim, 2 July 2020: Resman AS has been awarded a grant to improve its sub-nano tracer technology, which will give reservoir data with higher resolution and extended lifetime.

Resman’s Longevity project, scheduled to start fall 2020 and lasting for 4 years, is awarded funding of 10MNOK.

The significant industrial benefit of the project led the proposal to awarded an impressively high evaluation score of 7 (Exceptional) across all criteria considered: research and innovation, effect of research, project plan and execution and relevance.

Resman is a company that includes the leading environment in Norway for production monitoring and technology innovation. The improvement as described in the application, is in the long-term, important for the environment. For operators, a better understanding of production in the various zones of the well will mean a potentially higher recovery rate and with reduced water production, which has an impact on the environmental footprint”, says the Evaluation Committee in their comments to the application.

Resman have cooperated with its long-term partner – SINTEF and is very pleased with the joint work done for this project.

A team of Resman employees and SINTEF have successfully collaborated to make an exceptional project application with significant future industrial and environmental impact. Enhanced oil recovery depends on better data and is good for economic returns and the environment as it saves having to develop new fields. We want to deliver more value to our clients, through better data over a longer time period.”, says Gunnar Hviding, CEO of RESMAN AS.

Innovative data acquisition technology to provide a LONG TERM, RELIABLE, RISK FREE reservoir monitoring.

With the wide range of products and services, RESMAN AS is committed to help its customers gain insights about their reservoirs, ultimately improving the effectiveness of their reservoir management decisions. RESMAN’s approach provides a profitable and risk-free solution to gain long-term insight into what is flowing where, how much, in what well and in which zone of the well, which is highly valuable input for oil companies in their quest to increase oil recovery.

With the value of information, derived by use of Resman’s proprietary Intelligent Tracer systems, its customers can make timely-decisions and optimize production.

RESMAN is committed to the protection of the environment with low carbon footprint and “Enhanced Oil Recovery” technology, which assist the operators to improve global environmental sustainability.

The  research  team of RESMAN is proud of the support from the Research Council and we are eager to continue pushing the frontier of known technology limitations and keep baffling the industry with a more environmentally friendly solution to well and reservoir surveillance”,  says  Ragnhild Skjetne Hollup,  VP  Research  &  Development at RESMAN AS.  She continues:  “Enhancing the resolution and lifetime of tracer systems in producing wells is a significant technological challenge that can only be achieved by utilizing cutting edge technology together with world leading partners to innovate sophisticated methods for release – and detection of tracers in low parts per trillion detection levels”.

RESMAN AS in brief

Resman was formed in 2005 and since its inception the company has installed thousands of its proprietary Intelligent Tracer systems in hundreds of wells for more than 60 oil and gas operators worldwide. In 2018, Resman acquired Restrack, a tracer service provider. Since then  the combination of Resman’s reservoir monitoring and intelligent chemical tracer systems and Restrack’s full portfolio of integrated tracer services, including inter-well gas & water tracing, single well tracer tests (SWCTT) and partitioning inter-well tracer tests (PITT), delivers even more detailed information to operators on their reservoirs and wells for improved well production and production optimization. By using proprietary inflow quantification models developed in-house and verified by third party flow loop testing, Resman can accurately quantify zonal inflow contribution and detect the location of water breakthrough in complex and challenging completion environments. Resman is committed to helping its customers gain valuable data about their reservoirs, ultimately improving the effectiveness of their reservoir management decisions. Resman’s technology provides a low cost and low risk solution to gain long-term insight into what is flowing where, how much, in what well and in which zone of the well, which is highly valuable input for oil companies in their quest to increase oil recovery. Resman continuously evolving its innovative tracer and data analysis technology to provide a long term, reliable, risk-free and cost-efficient alternative for reservoir monitoring.

Resman has offices in Norway, UAE, UK, USA, Malaysia and Russia.
