Water marking systems
RESMAN aims at offering products in all the phases of a
well’s life. We monitor the clean-out of completion fluids, the
production start-up and the water breakthrough. We answer two
fundamental questions: “Are all my zones producing oil?” and “Which of
my zones are producing water?”
Unique tracers are placed in each zone,
or even in each completion string joint to obtain the required downhole
resolution. In a well with three zones this means that at least three
different tracers are used, one for each zone. Or, in a well with 100
sand screen elements up to 100 different tracers can be used, one for
each screen. The tracers are integrated with the completion equipment
and are programmed to release to the target fluid, oil or water,
following certain events or over a certain period of time depending on
the monitoring objectives.
Samples of the well fluids are taken topside for analysis. Comingling
of several zones or wells does not jeopardize the results. Analysis is
done locally at the nearest RESMAN or partner lab, and results are
available quickly.
