After startup, the Intelligent Tracers will continuously mark production from each zone with a unique chemical signature during the life of the tracers.
When zonal inflow information is required, fluids samples are collected and analyzed.

RESMAN’s dedicated analysis team models the results and works closely with the operator to extract value from the data.
Background: How Intelligent Tracer® Technology Works
RESMAN Intelligent Tracers are engineered polymers embedded with a uniquely identifiable chemical signatures that can be used to mark oil, water or gas production.
RESMAN chemists have developed more than 80 uniquely identifiable chemical signatures for oil (RES•OIL), 80 for water (RES•H2O) and 12 for gas (RES•GAS).
The Intelligent Tracers can be formed into a variety of shapes to allow it to be integrated into a wide range of completion designs.
The Intelligent Tracers are either oil, water or gas-sensitive and are designed to remain dormant until contacted by the target fluid (oil, water or gas).
When contacted by the target fluid, tracer molecules are released by the polymer in very small quantities, at a lab-designed rate and independent of flow conditions.
Production from the reservoir contacts the Intelligent Tracers and the unique chemical signature is released into the fluid continuously, thereby marking it with a unique identification.
Production from each zone transports the tracer signatures to the surface, where production fluid samples are collected.
Information from each zone is produced continuously during the multi-year life of the Intelligent Tracers, enabling on-demand and repeatable measurements without risky intervention or expensive changes to well design.
